Nirmal Jani has over 30 years professional experience as a cinematographer, with an extensive track record in India. He has credits in well over 100 productions, including 14 recent feature films in India, Won a number of awards for cinematography and lighting design.

He adept at a variety of visual and cinematic styles. He is noted for his versatility and inventiveness on the set. Lighting design is one of his fortes, along with all forms of camera movement, including hand-held techniques. He can often add considerable production value to a film irrespective of budget constraints. In 1975, Nirmal's father Mr. Pranlal Jani hired him to work as Assistant Cameraman. The volume of work and the diversity of clients provided hands-on experience for high speed, motion control, jib arm and blue screen cinematography. Filled with special effects, the commercials allowed Nirmal to hone his post-production skills, as well as the requirements and special needs of rigging, match dissolve and multi layer composites mandatory for many of these shoots.

Nirmal has worked on more than 40 feature films till date.
